Our establishment
EL REPÒS DEL VIATGER COUNTRY HOUSE LODGE is in Callosa d'En Sarriá, in the Marina Baixa region of Alicante province. The house is right in the historic centre of the town, with its main entrance in the busy Carrer Major (main street), and the other façade towards the Town Hall square and the 17th century San Juan Bautista church. It is an attractive traditional house built at the beginning of the 20th century, transformed by its owners into tourist accommodation. It maintains all its original charm and, inside, is decorated with old furniture and objects adapted to meet the requirements of modern-day comfort. The house opened to the public in 1998 and was completely refurbished in 2003. The house has a floor area of 400 m², spread over 3 floors and an attic. For more than 50 years, the house was home to the pharmacy of Joaquin Roda Grau, grandfather of the current owners. The family's work in restoring the old building is admirable. The result is a perfect combination of old and new.

Rooms
EL REPÒS DEL VIATGER has 5 rooms: 1 single, 3 doubles and 1 suite, all with en suite bathroom and central heating. Each room bears the name of a trade, in keeping with its decoration: (the priest), (the doctor), (the pharmacist), (the soldier) and (the farm worker).
The bedrooms are fitted with a hair dryer. The house also has cots and two extra folding beds if required.

- On the ground floor of REPÒS DEL VIATGER, our guests can enjoy the private library of Callosa d'En Sarriá historian Adolfo Salvá Ballester (1885-1942). He is well known for his studies of customs and way of life in the Marina Baixa region, and the library comprises over 1,600 titles from the 16th to 20th centuries, whose principal topics are travel, geography, history, law and literature.

Useful tourist information
Callosa d'En Sarriá has a Mediterranean climate, with average yearly temperatures of 17ºC, summer highs of 24ºC and winter lows of 9.5ºC.
The old town of this Alicante village conserves part of its medieval structure, ringed by its old defensive walls, which can still be crossed through one of the gates: El Portal. This is the area that gives us the most traditional picture of Callosa, with the remains of its defensive walls, its church (with archpriest), its shrines and the religious ceramic tiles to be found in its streets. Outside the centre of the village you can visit delightful spots such as the El Calvari and El Poador (Fuente Mayor washplace) recreation/picnic areas.
EL REPÒS DEL VIATGER has a peaceful setting in privileged natural surroundings, where the source of the Algar River and the Bernia and Aitana Mountains stand out especially. It is also the ideal base from which to enjoy the coves and beaches of Altea and Benidorm.
The reduced size of the establishment means we can offer direct, personal service. We also organise water and mountain sports and activities, as well as cultural courses and plastic arts workshops.
